Year 2020, a year of which we likely will have stories to tell for years to come.
It was during this time, I noticed the statistics for anxiety among people going through the roof! I learned most people who didn’t meditate but wanted to try it, said they didn’t know how but didn’t want to join a group. I decided to make meditation functional. I created a 60 second anxiety reducer that I was told was life changing for some. I took what I saw and tweaked it so it wasn’t cumbersome. A few benefits of meditation are improved self image, positive outlook on life, increased focus and better memory. Meditation is the most miraculous, while being minimally cost prohibitive, health benefits I have experienced. There are thousands of scientific studies that have been and continue to be done on meditation. Are there down sides? Possibly. Research shows, some had negative response to immersive meditation retreats. Others report that certain types of meditation left them feeling delusional, irrational, or experiencing paranormal thoughts. Like anything, we want to be aware of up as well as down sides to make sure it is for us. Before trying meditation, weigh benefits with side effects It has been helpful in allowing me to not take pain medication for a physical condition in my spine. I meditate a few minutes when I wake up. It reduces tension, allowing me to start days relaxed without slowing me down.
